Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are
PageSignal is a website monitoring service operated by BYTE FARM LLC ("we", "us"), a limited liability company organised in the United States. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how we share it, and your rights. If you have questions, contact privacy@pagesignal.com .
2. Data we collect
- Account data. Name, email address, and authentication identifiers, provided through Clerk when you sign up or sign in.
- Billing data. Subscription status, plan, and Stripe customer and subscription IDs. Card details are entered directly into Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Monitor configuration. The URLs you choose to monitor, the instructions you write, schedules, notification channel settings, and team membership.
- Service logs. Request logs, error reports, and basic usage metrics such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps. These are used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Product analytics. Page views, clicks, signups, conversions, feature usage, and basic device and browser information that help us understand how the Service is used and where to improve it. We may use cookies or similar technologies (such as local storage) for this purpose, and we aim to choose privacy-friendly tools that minimise personal data (for example through cookieless tracking or IP anonymisation). You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
3. How we use your data
We use this data to:
- provide the Service – fetch the pages you ask us to monitor, detect changes, and deliver notifications;
- operate accounts and process payments, including managing subscriptions and refunds;
- send transactional and service emails (security alerts, billing receipts, important product changes);
- analyse usage patterns and improve the Service (product analytics);
- diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not use the content of pages you monitor, your instructions, or your notifications for any purpose other than operating the Service for you.
4. Subprocessors and third parties
We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service. Each handles your data only as needed to perform their function and under their own published policies:
- Clerk – authentication and account management.
- Stripe – subscription billing and payment processing.
- Amplitude – product analytics. Loaded only when you accept analytics cookies; we send page views, clicks, and a hashed user identifier (when signed in) so we can understand which features are used.
We will update this list when we add or change providers. We may also disclose data when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
5. Monitored pages and third-party content
The pages you instruct us to monitor are fetched as a normal web client would. They may contain personal data about people other than you (for example, names on a careers page). You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to monitor those pages, and for honouring takedown or deletion requests we forward to you. We will not deliberately bypass authentication or other access controls of third-party sites.
6. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Monitored content and change history are retained for the period associated with your plan (currently 30 days on Pro, 90 days on Business, longer on Enterprise) and are pruned automatically thereafter. When you delete a monitor, its associated snapshots and notifications are deleted within 30 days. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and monitoring data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain billing records for accounting and tax purposes (typically up to 7 years) or where retention is otherwise required by law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption of stored snapshots at rest, scoped credentials, audit logging, and tenant isolation enforced at the database level. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of material security incidents in line with applicable law.
8. International transfers
We operate infrastructure in both the European Union and the United States, and your data may be processed in either region under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these directly from your account settings; for anything else, email privacy@pagesignal.com . If you are in the EU/UK and believe we have not adequately addressed a concern, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
